As a youngster, Diane wrote stories from her imagination and illustrated them in crayon. She called them “books” and still has some of them. She went on to major in English in High School with the goal of becoming an author. After attending a couple of year at Pikes Peak State College, she experienced motherhood while selling her art and started two businesses.
