Ashtōnz (pronounced “Ash-tones”; it’s an inside joke going back to Charlie’s high school days in Evergreen) have been entertaining folks around the Tri-Lakes area since their first area gig at the Speedtrap in Palmer Lake in 2013. They’ve been named “Best of the Springs” by Gazette readers and have averaged 55-60 shows per year including park performances, benefit concerts and live-stream fundraisers for area charities, appearances at Boot Barn Hall, Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts and the Black Rose Acoustic Society, and homegrown hoedowns at the Searle Ranch barn. They’re the “host band” for the annual Monu-Palooza music festival on Labor Day Eve at Limbach Park, and their claim to semi-fame includes a repertoire of over 750 songs (original and cover tunes).
The Ash-lineup for Chautauqua 2025 features Charlie Searle of Monument (guitar, vocals), Nathan Gillis of Colorado Springs (guitar, mandolin, vocals) and Kerry Paige of Palmer Lake (saxophone, winds, vocals).
