Nichole Urbatchka has been a teacher in the public schools for 20+ years and a student her entire life. As schools emerged from Covid, Nichole recognized a change in students’ anxiety levels and ability to self-regulate. She addressed these needs by working to gain her 200-hour yoga teacher certification, and supported students’ social emotional learning with yoga and meditation practices in her classroom. Nichole has expanded her practice by teaching yoga to adults at local studios, as well as helping other public school teachers implement mindfulness practices in their own classrooms.
